Alexis is our Graphic Design & Digital Marketing Production Associate… uhhh, what? Don’t even worry about it—she knows what it means, and trust us—it’s a good thing for you and your company. Alexis graduated in the top 10% of her class at FAU with a BA in marketing, and sees the world a bit differently… often through the viewfinder of her camera—a hobby she’s pretty passionate about. Alexis also danced for many years, with the hopes of becoming a professional ballerina. It played to our favor considerably however, when she traded in her little pink shoe thingies (you know the ones… with the ribbons and stuff) for a laptop and mouse. We’re not sure if that’s a fair trade, but she seems pretty psyched about it. And, we’re definitely one small step closer to becoming a design, branding, marketing and dance studio. So, there’s that.
Heather grew up in South Florida and migrated up North to Washington, DC for eight years after college. After a very cold winter, she decided it was time to trade in her snow boats for some flippy floppies (say that three times fast).
Growing up in an entrepreneurial home, Heather understands the importance of cultivating strong relationships in the workplace. Her first “job” was at her’s parent’s retail store at 8 years old. Heather’s career started in higher education administration and is excited to join the creative minds on the Ave. She excited to be a member of the #woocrew.
We had been hoping to add a team member with an unnatural obsession for their pet for quite some time. Thankfully, our search came to an end when we found Cecey (say “si si”), the elated owner of a Shiba Inu named Mika. Mika has a blog. And a YouTube channel. Uhhhh… but this story has an amazing twist—Cecey, as it turns out, is a capable graphic designer. That’s great news for Woo, as the charts and graphs we had previously worked up failed to indicate how we might monetize her dog obsession. Cecey digs photography. And beach volleyball. And things with pockets. She’s also a UF design grad and an official ACR (Alachua County Resident). Apparently, that’s a thing. Now, she’s OWC (Official Woo Crew) because that’s a thing, too.
David is a prior intern turned Woo team member. He showed us he could bust ass and churn out impressive work at a frantic rate—so we decided to pay him. Which is kinda cool, because otherwise, we never would have come to understand what Tank Top Tuesdays were all about. Wait a minute… we still don’t know what those are all about, to be honest. We’re always on the lookout for the next “David.”
You know the guy in old war movies that scurries around the battlefield with a radio on his back? The one calling out coordinates and calling in air strikes? That’s Cory… without all the explosions and war and stuff. And with an iPhone. And a Mac. And no backpack. Anyway, he handles communications for Team Woo and our clients. He also builds out website frames, ensuring that our clients’ sites stay up to date—pretty important stuff.
Once upon a time, when Woo sought another design guy to join the team, we happened across Jon. Was it a match made in heaven? Not really—it happened in South Florida… we’ve never been to Heaven. Anyway, Jon’s got a background in branding, design and copywriting and has crafted solutions for companies like Crocs, the Hyatt Vacation Club, Nortel and Office Depot. Even better, he has worked as a creative director on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line. I know, right? He’s got a bunch of design awards and has been published in more than a few design reference books.
Andrew’s art history background and professionalism with diverse advertising accounts makes him a valuable asset. His years of experience developing design and branding concepts for print and web media is great. But let’s face it—Andrew was hired more for his all-American good looks and uncanny knowledge of local eateries and pubs than any of those things. They’re not related. We know. Lucky for us… it has worked out splendidly so far.
Billy is tasked with the design and oversight of web-based media such as websites, ads, photography and video production. His education in design and film & video production, paired with experience as a creative director for an action sports manufacturer and consultant for advertising agencies, have infused him with the insight needed to create award-winning projects with clear communication strategies.
After a lengthy northern u.s. tour that included Madison, Wisconsin, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Chicago, Illinois, Leland has come to his senses and settled locally for a permanent gig at Woo Creative. Although he seems genuinely confused by the lack of snowboarding facilities in sofla, Leland has managed to channel that energy into impressive late night web development sessions and online solutions for Woo clients. Leland brings his experience as a consultant, full stack developer expertise, expansive knowledge with WordPress and a closet full of Eddie Bauer to the Woo team. We unanimously agree that nearly all of that will serve us well moving forward.
